COMPOST TROUBLESHOOTING: Does your pile have a heady reek? Mine certainly does. Add crunchy, dry leaves to your pile to up your Carbon ratio and dry it out a bit. My compost is mostly kitchen scraps of various colors (mostly green), making my pile heavy on the Nitrogen side. Optimally, you’d want a 25:1 Carbon to Nitrogen ratio. The ground is littered with leaves, so this should is easier to do now than in a month or two.
